Clean accommodation in good location, lacking comforts Positive: The location was very good for getting to the lake to view the rowing, and then walk to town for meals. It was clean on arrival. Negative: For the very high cost of the property we were very disappointed. The beds were comfortable, but pillows not. No bedside tables, very limited power points. The floor is unbelievably creaky, which is awkward at night when sharing with other people. Got woken many nights by someone walking to the toilet. The toilet is very noisy from the kitchen/living which adds to awkwardness when sharing with others. There was only one small mirror in bathroom and no power point, so those of us needing to blow dry hair had to do so in the kitchen with a mirror we purchased. There were only 2 facecloths left for 6 people. No iron or ironing board. There’s a musty smell in the bedrooms and the lounge carpet was very stained. All of the above would have been bearable at a more reasonable nightly rate.

Positive: The easy to find and quiet location of the house is what you want after a longer trip from QT or Wanaka through the Aoraki National park. The house is comfortable enough for three families to stay for a night or two. Negative: Price is a bit steep for the quality of staying, but nothing can be done, I guess considering a shortage of accommodation in Twizel during pick time

A good stopover stay if unable to find a place in Lake Tekapo or Mt Cook Positive: Very close to Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook. It is a good location if you cannot book a place at those venues. Negative: A bit costly for the available amenities (one bathroom and toilet).
